New Project Update from Wedding Dress Blue

It isn’t taking as long as I thought to get a lot done on the new project: THIS ONE.

It is now called the Confetti Quilt, and there are 100 of 144 blocks assembled. And most of the pieces are cut (out of that abundant scrap box) for the rest of the blocks.

Possibly the blocks will be complete by early February. Such a nice way to start the year.

New Year. New Project. from Wedding Dress Blue

My end of the year cleaning almost always results in a new year project.

My bin of “little bits of background fabric” was overflowing. Fortunately, there are patterns for that.

Like THIS ONE. I am making 6″ blocks using only 4 HSTs each, rather than the 12″ she shows. But the rest of the measurements are the same.

I was given the set when I moved out on my own. What a great gift!

It has been used and used. Four children and all their friends. Meals. School projects. Game ...

I've been wanting to make a quilt using my collection of "low volume" prints. This pattern is easier than it looks.
Here's a link to the pattern in my Etsy shop: Fair and Square quilt pattern

The pattern is available for download at the moment of purchase by clicking on "Find Files."

Low Volume Strings and NTT from My Quilt Infatuation

Happy Needle and Thread Thursday, friends!  I've been working on putting together a string quilt with lots of my low volume fabrics, and though I'm not done playing around with the block layout just yet, so far I love how it's coming together.

Mixed into the low volume strings are some of my favorite spring greens, just for a few pops of color scattered here and there.  These blocks are only six inches, and the strips finish at just one inch wide, so that means that every block has nine different strips in it.  The narrow strips ...
